A youth group has alleged that there’s a well orchestrated comprehensive plan by some persons to sabotage the new central bank of Nigeria’s policy on withdrawal limit. <\/p>\n
According to the group, the plan includes use of $5 mil\u00adlion to launch an on\u00adslaught against the CBN\u2019s policy. <\/p>\n
The Ethnic Youth Leaders Council of Nigeria (EYLCN), which exposed this during a press conference in Abuja on Friday, berated the Speaker of the House of Representa\u00adtives over the resolution of the House against the CBN policy.<\/p>\n
Addressing newsmen in Abuja, the Secretary of the group, Peter Abang said that the plot against the CBN policy is a plot to attack and undermine President Muhammadu Buhari and the government\u2019s policy on cash withdrawal limit.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cWe have, however, uncovered a well-oiled plot to discredit the cash withdrawal limit by politicians with sto\u00adlen funds in their possession. These unscrupulous politi\u00adcians are plotting to attack and undermine President Muhammadu Buhari and the government\u2019s policy on cash withdrawal limit.<\/p>\n
\u201cInformation in our custody is that these enemies of state have pooled over $5 million with which they hope to launch an onslaught against the policy beginning from next week.\u201d<\/p>\n
Explaining how the attacks will be carried out, Abang said, \u201ctheir attacks will include coor\u00addinated media manipulations, interviews, columns, articles, op-eds, and adverts.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey will also hire and cre\u00adate several faceless groups to hold rallies and protests for a fee and they will address media briefings and render false statis\u00adtics in order to sway the people.\u201d<\/p>\n
Berating the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Ethnic Youth Leaders Council of Nigeria said that the reso\u00adlution against the withdrawal limits could be called illegal, abuse of office and the height of legislative rascality.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow could one use pub\u00adlic office specifically to work against the people who elected him into such office? This calls for a thorough investigation into the mandate on which these men are standing be\u00adcause if they are not afraid of the people, who are expected to vote them back into office, then they know they do not rely on the votes of the people to get into office,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
