{"id":2347,"date":"2021-03-02T11:53:43","date_gmt":"2021-03-02T10:53:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=2347"},"modified":"2021-03-02T11:53:43","modified_gmt":"2021-03-02T10:53:43","slug":"nigeria-records-highest-power-transmission-of-5615-40mw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/02\/nigeria-records-highest-power-transmission-of-5615-40mw\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria records highest power transmission of 5,615.40MW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says the power sector has recorded an all-time national peak of 5,615.40MW.<\/p>\n<p>A statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos by Ms Ndidi Mbah, General Manager, Public Affairs, TCN, said the new record was achieved on Feb. 28.<\/p>\n<p>The statement said the power generated was efficiently transmitted through the nation\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/02\/automotive-council-introduces-nigerian-made-electric-car-to-reps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">transmission<\/a> grid at a frequency of 50.20Hz by 9.30 pm on the said date.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, this transmission surpassed the previous peak generation of 5,593 40MW which occurred on Feb. 25 by 22.0MW.<\/p>\n<p>It said: \u201cAlso, on Feb.26, 2021, TCN equally transmitted a new Maximum Daily Energy of 116,891 14MWH which is higher than the previous value of 116,121 42MWH achieved on Feb. 25, 2021, by 769.72MWH.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the development, Mr Sule Abdulaziz, Managing Director, TCN, reiterated that the consistent increase in the peak generation was due to synergy among power sector participants and concerted efforts by the TCN.<\/p>\n<p>Abdulaziz said this was aimed at ensuring that all generated power was wheeled to distribution load centres nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dTCN will continue to work hard to complete ongoing projects and undertake new ones as it strives to put in place a robust transmission and, despite challenges posed by vandalism and insecurity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dAll hands must be on deck in the fight to safeguard electricity installations nationwide,\u201d Abdulaziz added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says the power sector has recorded an all-time national peak of 5,615.40MW.
