{"id":235067,"date":"2022-12-14T15:35:41","date_gmt":"2022-12-14T14:35:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=235067"},"modified":"2022-12-14T15:35:41","modified_gmt":"2022-12-14T14:35:41","slug":"fec-okays-n9-24bn-life-insurance-cover-for-public-servants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/12\/14\/fec-okays-n9-24bn-life-insurance-cover-for-public-servants\/","title":{"rendered":"FEC Okays N9.24bn Life Insurance Cover For Public Servants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday, the Federal Executive Council, or FEC, approved N9.24 billion for the Nigerian public sector&#8217;s 2022\u20132023 group life insurance cover.<\/p>\n<p>This was revealed by Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, during the Council meeting in the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, which was chaired by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/09\/27\/tinubu-is-ailing-osinbanjo-should-have-been-better-for-apc-pat-utomi\/\">Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, presented the memorandum to Council, according to Mrs. Ahmed, who spoke on the approval of the document. She went on to explain that the insurance is intended to cover all public servants.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, \u201cThe Head of Service of the Federation presented a memo to Council on Group Life Insurance Cover for the period 2022 to 2023. This is an insurance cover that is covering all government officials in all government agencies, paramilitary and intelligence agencies.
