Senator Abdullahi Adamu, National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, will meet with former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Sheriff, and some party stalwarts on Friday for a media briefing on the 2023 general election.<\/p>\n

The news comes four days after the APC national chairman was mistaken for a man and crowd at the palace of the Emir of Lafia in Nasarawa State stripped him naked in a viral video.<\/p>\n

Malam Nata’ala Mohammed, Adamu’s personal assistant for new media, refuted the rumors.<\/p>\n

Mohammed, who was incensed, claimed that individuals spreading the myth that the victim was the APC national chairman were being cunning and were simply looking for “relevance.”<\/p>\n

The man in the viral video has since been identified as the Grand Patron of a pro-democracy group, A A Sule Progressives Forum, Alhaji Abubakar Giza.<\/p>\n

Friday\u2019s political roundtable, which is part of the annual lecture series of the party Press Corps, is scheduled to hold at the National Secretariat of the party at 9.00 am.<\/p>\n

It will be hosted by the APC National Publicity<\/a> Secretary, Felix Morka, and chaired by the ex-Borno chairman.<\/p>\n

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Chairman, Organising Committee of the event, Babatunde Ayeni.<\/p>\n

Ayeni disclosed that aside from individual contributions from party chieftains, the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria, Mr Osita Okechukwu, would give the lead presentation on \u201cThe Press; The Public: Critical Agents for Effective Democratic Deliveries in 2023 and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe aim of the roundtable is to improve its cordial relationship with the rank and file of the ruling party for better coverage of party policies and programmes, thereby helping to deepen our democracy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
