Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, and President Muhammadu Buhari had a private meeting on Wednesday evening at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.<\/p>\n

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Bashir Ahmad, the Special Assistant to the President on Digital Communications, verified this development on Twitter.<\/p>\n

President Muhammadu Buhari met with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu<\/a>, our presidential candidate, in his residence at the State House in Abuja earlier today, according to Ahmad.<\/p>\n

Buhari had earlier promised the APC and its candidates in a statement by his spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu, that he would guarantee the party’s presidential candidate and other candidates’ victories in the general elections of 2023.<\/p>\n

According to him, he is ready at all times to campaign for the presidential candidate and all party candidates with \u201cfull energy and conviction\u201d.<\/p>\n

The president stated that the assurance was meant to dispel expressed concerns in certain quarters that he had not featured in campaigns since the national launch in Jos<\/a>, Plateau.<\/p>\n

He, however, stressed that while he remained committed to party politics, the functions and duties of the president would equally be upheld at all times.<\/p>\n

The Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo had earlier paid a visit to Tinubu at his Abuja residence on Wednesday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
