{"id":236997,"date":"2022-12-23T11:02:05","date_gmt":"2022-12-23T10:02:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=236997"},"modified":"2022-12-23T11:02:05","modified_gmt":"2022-12-23T10:02:05","slug":"lalong-constitutes-task-force-to-curb-diversion-of-petroleum-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/12\/23\/lalong-constitutes-task-force-to-curb-diversion-of-petroleum-products\/","title":{"rendered":"Lalong Constitutes Task Force To Curb Diversion Of Petroleum Products"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The creation of a task committee to handle issues with inhabitants of the state being unable to get petroleum products has been approved by Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Danladi Atu, Secretary to the State Government, announced the approval.<\/p>\n<p>The task group would keep an eye on how petroleum products were sold and how much they cost in the state, according to a statement released by Dr. Makut Macham, a spokeswoman for Lalong, on Thursday in Jos.<\/p>\n<p>He continued by saying that it would also ensure availability, especially during the holiday season, and enforce compliance by the marketers with the agreed pricing structure for the products.<\/p>\n<p>According to Macham, the task force would also ensure that petroleum products designated for Plateau were not diverted to neighbouring states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe task force has also been mandated to apprehend violators and ensure that they are punished according to extant laws.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe task force is to be chaired by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, with membership comprising of Commissioners for Science and Technology, Environment and Urban Development.<\/p>\n<p>Other members of the task force include representatives of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/12\/22\/im-aware-of-police-military-problems-buhari\/\">Nigeria Police<\/a>, DSS, NSCDC, Operation Rainbow, NUPRC, NUPENG and Independent Petroleum Marketers of Nigeria (IPMAN).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The creation of a task committee to handle issues with inhabitants of the state being unable to get petroleum products has been approved by Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau.
