{"id":237205,"date":"2022-12-24T12:26:01","date_gmt":"2022-12-24T11:26:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=237205"},"modified":"2022-12-24T12:26:01","modified_gmt":"2022-12-24T11:26:01","slug":"ondo-man-remanded-for-allegedly-abducting-raping-17-year-old-girl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/12\/24\/ondo-man-remanded-for-allegedly-abducting-raping-17-year-old-girl\/","title":{"rendered":"Ondo man remanded for allegedly abducting, raping 17-year-old girl"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man identified as Akinfala Babatunde, has been remanded for allegedly abducting and raping a 17-year-old girl in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State<\/p>\n<p>The state police command earlier arrested the defendant at Agosile Street, Odode Idanre, after the victim\u2019s mother reported the disappearance of her daughter at a police station<\/p>\n<p>The accused was later arraigned before the Ondo State Magistrates\u2019 Court sitting in Idanre on a four-count charge bordering on abduction and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/11\/26\/police-arrest-teacher-for-alleged-sexual-assault-of-a-4-year-old\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sexual assault<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor, Ajiboye Obadasa, told the court that the defendant at 10pm came to the victim\u2019s house at Odode Idanre to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/12\/14\/sokoto-man-abducts-neighbours-seven-year-old-son\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abduct<\/a> her without the knowledge of her parents.<\/p>\n<p>Obadasa alleged that Akinfala took the 17-year-old from her parents\u2019 house to his residence and indecently assaulted her, adding that the victim\u2019s parents reported the case at a police station after some neighbours called them on phone.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the offences contravened Sections 226 (1), 360, 361, 351 of the Criminal Code Law of Ondo State of Ondo State. The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.<\/p>\n<p>The magistrate, Mrs F. A. Adesida, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until January 9, 2023. But the accused, who was unable to complete his bail conditions, was later remanded at the Olokuta Correctional Centre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A man identified as
