Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has responded to comments made by Delta counterpart and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice presidential candidate Ifeanyi Okowa.<\/p>\n

WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Okowa said on Friday that the PDP will win the presidential election with or without the G5 Governors’ support.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a PDP rally in Delta<\/a>, the governor said that only God can make the opposition PDP win the presidential election in 2023, not Wike and his allies.<\/p>\n

It is only the power of God that can help us to win. So, whether the G5 said that they would work with APC or any other party, we will win<\/em>, Okowa had said.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In response to Okowa’s remarks, Wike stated that God will not allow those who will sell off Nigeria to be in power and that the Almighty will not allow anyone who will betray the agreement to be in power.<\/p>\n

He said Okowa should understand that God does not give power to the “wicked and treacherous,” and that God will not allow those who have agreed to do something to win the 2023 election to betray their brothers.<\/p>\n

Wike made the remarks on Saturday during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ogbo-Ihugbodo road in the state’s Ahoada East Local Government Area.<\/p>\n

He said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t be treacherous in life because you want power. God will never give power to the wicked. Our hands are clean; we have not done anything wrong.<\/em><\/p>\n

All we are saying is, do things in a way all of us will have a sense of belonging; that all of us will believe that we are together. That is all we are saying. If saying so is wrong, then let it be to God. But we know that it is good as right takes, let left take also.<\/em><\/p>\n

We are alive today; we are where we are because of God. Nobody can even breathe air if not God, not to talk of holding position. So, nobody can tell us that it is only God. We know that it is only God that gives power.<\/em><\/p>\n

But our prayer is that \u2018God, don\u2019t allow those who will sell off Nigeria to be in power\u2019. Our prayer is \u2018God, don\u2019t allow anybody that people will have an agreement with, and in the next two minutes, the person will change\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n

Our prayer is that almighty God will not allow those who will betray their brothers when they have agreed with their brothers to do something. God, may you never allow such people.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
