{"id":242136,"date":"2023-01-16T21:12:19","date_gmt":"2023-01-16T20:12:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=242136"},"modified":"2023-01-16T21:12:19","modified_gmt":"2023-01-16T20:12:19","slug":"akeredolu-on-sickbed-after-concoction-from-mistress-ondo-first-lady-discloses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/01\/16\/akeredolu-on-sickbed-after-concoction-from-mistress-ondo-first-lady-discloses\/","title":{"rendered":"Akeredolu on sickbed after concoction from mistress, Ondo First Lady discloses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wife of Ondo State Governor, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has alarmed that\u00a0her husband is on sickbed after eating a \u201cconcoction\u201d from one of his female aides, Bunmi Ademosun.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Anyanwu-Akeredolu via a leaked audio file accused\u00a0Ms Ademosun, the special adviser to the governor on Multilateral and Inter-Governmental Affairs, of \u201csneaking\u201d to give her husband (Akeredolu) the local herb to drink.<\/p>\n<p>While warning the female aide to stay away from her husband, the governor\u2019s wife noted that her persistent closeness is weakening Mr <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/01\/13\/2023-nobody-can-rig-election-again-in-nigeria-gov-akeredolu\/\">Akeredolu\u2019s<\/a> health condition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have a message for Ademosun (Bunmi) and I believe that she\u2019s on his Aketi\u2019s women\u2019s platform. I don\u2019t have her number, and I don\u2019t think she\u2019s worthy of me having her number. I want this woman to stay away from my husband. Stop sneaking in concoctions. According to her, they (the local herbs) are from her \u201cfake\u201d pastors to give my husband to drink,\u201d said the Ondo first lady in the audio obtained by Peoples Gazette on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Ademosun, an indigene of Akure, was one of few indigenous people who rallied support for Mr Akeredolu during his gubernatorial campaigns in 2016, canvassing votes mostly from market women and women groups.<\/p>\n<p>However, Mrs Anyanwu-Akeredolu was not impressed by Ms Ademosun\u2019s closeness to the governor and her alleged unorthodox concoction prepared for Mr Akeredolu.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe rely on the western style of medical care, and Aketi (Akeredolu) will get well,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>The governor\u2019s wife also accused Ms Ademosun was scheming to become Ondo deputy governor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat has triggered this very message was her recent (sic) meeting to become the deputy governor of the state. Look at you! What have you got upstairs to be the deputy governor of Ondo (state)?\u201d Mrs Akeredolu stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeradventure, if anything happens to Aketi. Lucky (Aiyedatiwa) takes over. It\u2019s a constitutional thing, but not for you to be scheming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While noting that she had always warned her husband to stay away from Ms Ademosun, the first lady explained that she was ready to do everything possible to protect her husband, threatening to \u201cdeal with\u201d the governor\u2019s special adviser.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI warned Aketi from day one that this woman is evil and not good. And it\u2019s happening. She has nothing good. I\u2019m warning her for the very last time to stay away from my husband,\u201d said Mrs Akeredolu. \u201cIf you\u2019re dealing with an Igbo woman in this kind of situation. I will deal with you mercilessly. You\u2019ll never forget in your life. You are a very terrible human being. Go away and enjoy your loot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Gazette could not immediately get the reactions of Ms Ademosun as several attempts to reach her through her mobile phones proved abortive as of the time of this report.<\/p>\n<p>Last April, Mr Akeredolu travelled abroad for medical treatment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI needed to seek medical attention. It was nothing so serious as overblown because it is routine,\u201d the Ondo governor had stated upon his return. \u201cBut on my return, I needed to take some time off based on advice.
