{"id":242159,"date":"2023-01-16T22:56:34","date_gmt":"2023-01-16T21:56:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=242159"},"modified":"2023-01-16T22:56:34","modified_gmt":"2023-01-16T21:56:34","slug":"breaking-efcc-records-19-sales-monday-as-bidding-ends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/01\/16\/breaking-efcc-records-19-sales-monday-as-bidding-ends\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: EFCC records 19 sales Monday as bidding ends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the sales of forfeited landed properties in Abuja came to a close on Monday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission recorded 19 successful bids.<\/p>\n<p>As proceeds of crimes determined through legal processes by the EFCC, the properties, spread across the nation, were forfeited to the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>There were new bids for all the unsold properties in lots 4,5,6,7,8, and 9 during Monday&#8217;s bidding exercise, the last day for the sales, and 19 successful bidders emerged before the close of sales at around 8:40 pm.<\/p>\n<p>Henry Udeme, one of the winners, praised the EFCC and noted that the exercise was transparent in an interview with newsmen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI like the fact that it is transparent, I want the EFCC to extend this transparency to help Nigeria in other areas because so many people are looking up to the Commission.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his closing remarks, on Monday night, the Director of Proceeds of Crime Department, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/01\/12\/efcc-closes-case-against-ex-niger-gov-aliyu\/\">EFCC<\/a>, Yusuf Aliu, who spoke on behalf of the Secretary to the Commission, George Ekpungu, thanked all participants and congratulated the winners.<\/p>\n<p>Aliu said, \u201cI want to appreciate you all for making this exercise a success, I congratulate the winners, and I also want to ask them to cooperate by making payments before the 15 days deadline, otherwise, we will give it to the next highest bidders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs for the ones we couldn\u2019t conclude today their sales tonight, we will get back to the public on our decision on them, thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As the sales of forfeited landed properties in Abuja came to a close on Monday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission recorded 19 successful bids.
