{"id":242752,"date":"2023-01-19T10:26:07","date_gmt":"2023-01-19T09:26:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=242752"},"modified":"2023-01-19T10:26:07","modified_gmt":"2023-01-19T09:26:07","slug":"nafdac-approves-first-alternative-herbal-supplements-to-vaccine-for-poultry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/01\/19\/nafdac-approves-first-alternative-herbal-supplements-to-vaccine-for-poultry\/","title":{"rendered":"NAFDAC approves first alternative herbal supplements to vaccine for poultry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has approved the first indigenous alternative herbal supplements to vaccine and antibiotics for poultry in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>The herbal supplements had provided succour to 1,468 farm centers in Nigeria that were faced with threat from various diseases affecting their birds on the farms.<\/p>\n<p>The co-founder and managing director of Ehibaghe Organic System, manufacturer of the herbal product, Adedeji Babatunde, who announced this on Tuesday in a press statement in Calabar, Cross River State, stated that the management of the company is grateful to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/12\/19\/nafdac-alerts-nigerians-on-existence-of-fake-covid-19-test-kits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NAFDAC<\/a> for believing in the supplements by granting them approval to be legally recognised to serve as alternative to vaccines for poultry in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the herbal supplements fight bacteria, fungi and viral infections as well as improve microbes that play a crucial role in poultry productivity and health.<\/p>\n<p>Adedeji further explained that over the years, the health of birds and productive status of farms that patronise the supplements have drastically improved due to reduced cases of sickness.<\/p>\n<p>The managing director assured that the company would expand its product to enable it cater more for many farms in Nigeria in a few months after it is officially launched.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has approved the first indigenous alternative herbal supplements to vaccine and antibiotics for poultry in Nigeria.
