Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra, has opened up on why he penned the article where he forecast that the outcome of the presidential election will be unfavorable to his predecessor, Peter Obi. <\/p>\n

Speaking on Thursday in an interview on Channels Television, Soludo said he wrote the article for the sake of history. <\/p>\n

In the article published on November 14, 2022, Soludo said Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), knows that \u201che can\u2019t and won\u2019t win\u201d the 2023 presidential election.<\/a><\/p>\n

The article stirred reactions on and off social media with many wondering what informed the governor’s decision to write such scathing and acerbic piece about his predecessor. <\/p>\n

During Thursday\u2019s interview, the Anambra governor was asked whether he had changed his position on Obi\u2019s chances in the forthcoming elections as detailed in the article.<\/p>\n

Reacting, Soludo said the voters would decide who will win the presidential election, adding that he has a responsibility to campaign for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s be clear \u2014 APGA is contesting this election. APGA has a presidential candidate,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou introduced me as the new national leader of APGA, I have a responsibility to campaign for my party \u2014 from head to bottom.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe (APGA) are seriously contesting this election. About the permutations and chances of each candidate, I think the electorate will decide that in the coming days.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn my piece, I made mentioned that I don\u2019t see the pathway of LP victory. That is my prognosis,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the same piece, I even concluded that Peter Obi might win in Anambra state.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbout winning the overall election itself, quite frankly, my prognosis of the election itself, as to what was and what is, by that piece \u2014 in one sentence to summarise it \u2014 that piece I did not write it for today, I wrote it for history.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
