A former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Naja\u2019atu Mohammed, said some northerners urging on All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu do so because they want his running mate Kashim Shettima to replace him as president.<\/p>\n

Naja\u2019atu stated this in a recent interview with This Day newspaper.<\/p>\n

The former Tinubu’s campaign director said some supporters of northern extraction, who seems to be ignoring the APC flag bearer\u2019s obvious health frailties are in fact banking on his eventual incapacitation so that Shettima could assume office as constitutionally stipulated.<\/p>\n

The Kano-born politician said, \u201cThey just want to push him for them to be the president. It\u2019s not even in his interest,\u201d Ms Mohammed asserted. \u201cSome people from Maiduguri called me today (Monday) asking, \u2018Hajia, why did you do this? You have now punctured our interest. Our son is going to be president, and you\u2019re talking like that? After all, look at Tinubu; he cannot do it. We\u2019re all for Kashim. You have not done well for us.\u201d<\/p>\n

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Naja\u2019atu resigned as director<\/a> of civil society engagement in Tinubu\u2019s campaign.<\/p>\n

According to her, she could not serve the country\u2019s interest in clear conscience if she continued to support the former Lagos governor.<\/p>\n

Naja\u2019atu further clarified that Tinubu\u2019s health<\/a> is in an embarrassing state which is grossly unfit for public office.<\/p>\n

\u201cI sat with him for two hours in London; when you talk of green, he will give you an answer of red. He can\u2019t even decipher.
