Tragedy was averted on Monday night after an articulated truck conveying a 40ft container fell on the Kara bridge end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.<\/p>\n

It was gathered that the truck heading inward Ogun State at a top speed lost control and overturned around some minutes past 11 pm.<\/p>\n

The incident brought vehicular movement along the axis to a halt, spreading towards Otedola bridge inward Secretariat bus stop and lasted for hours.<\/p>\n

The Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ahmed Umar, who confirmed the incident said there was no casualty, PUNCH reports.<\/p>\n

Umar said, \u201cThe truck overturned as a result of brake failure and the two male occupants were not Injured. With the support of Julius Berger Company, the fallen container was pushed to one side of the road while MTD Ojodu Abiodun took custody of the crashed vehicle.\u201d<\/p>\n

WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that an articulated truck carrying a 20-foot\u00a0container toppled on a commercial bus, killing nine people<\/a>\u00a0on Ojuelegba bridge in Lagos.<\/p>\n
