On Sunday, the Ogun Police detained a man named Michael Ogundele for allegedly shooting and injuring his younger sister’s boyfriend in the state’s Idiroko region.<\/p>\n

This information was released to newsmen in Ota, Ogun, by SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state’s police spokesperson.<\/p>\n

According to Oyeyemi, the 30-year-old suspect was apprehended on February 2 by an Ogun State Command agent for allegedly shooting and injuring one Tobi Olabisi<\/a> while having an affair with his sister.<\/p>\n

According to the PPRO, the suspect was apprehended as a result of a report made at the Idiroko Divisional Headquarters by one Alpha Akeem, a prominent member of the Ihunbo town community.<\/p>\n

He added that Akeem came to the police station with the injured victim (Olabisi) and reported that the suspect who had been warning the victim to stop having a love affair with his younger sister, fired a gunshot at him, but fortunately the victim narrowly escaped death.<\/p>\n

\u201cUpon the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Idiroko Division, CSP Ayo Akinsowon, quickly mobilized his detectives to go after the suspect and he was subsequently arrested.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring interrogation, the suspect claimed to have warned the victim to desist from dating his younger sister but he refused, so on that fateful day, he got information that the victim<\/a> was sleeping in his sister\u2019s room and he went there with a Dane gun.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn getting there, the victim jumped out from the window to escape the likely consequence when he was shot by the suspect,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Oyeyemi said that the victim was quickly rushed to General Hospital, Idiroko, Ogun, where he is currently responding to treatment.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
