{"id":247020,"date":"2023-02-06T16:41:26","date_gmt":"2023-02-06T15:41:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=247020"},"modified":"2023-02-06T16:41:26","modified_gmt":"2023-02-06T15:41:26","slug":"buhari-appoints-rector-for-federal-polytechnic-orogun-in-delta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/02\/06\/buhari-appoints-rector-for-federal-polytechnic-orogun-in-delta\/","title":{"rendered":"Buhari appoints Rector for Federal Polytechnic, Orogun in Delta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday appointed Dr. Duke Okoro as the pioneer Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Orogun in Ughelli North LGA of Delta State.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Polytechnic, Orogun, was initiated by the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege and passed into law by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/01\/24\/national-assembly-sends-35-constitutional-bills-to-buhari-for-assent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Assembly<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The law was subsequently assented to by President Buhari, commander in chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>The appointment of Okoro as the pioneer Rector of the institution was duly considered and approved by the President.<\/p>\n<p>Okoro, was the Director of International Development at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Delta State.<\/p>\n<p>He bagged a PhD degree in Environmental Analytical Chemistry from the prestigious University of Benin in 2004. A Fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (FCSN); Fellow Nigerian Environmental Society (FNES); Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (FICCON); Fellow Institute of Management Consultant (FIMC).<\/p>\n<p>The newly appointed rector is also a Member, of the Institute of Public Analyst of Nigeria (MIPAN); a Member of the Chemical Profession of Alberta, Canada (PChem), and a Member of the Environmental Careers Organization, Canada (EP) amongst others.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Deltans have reacted to the kickoff of the Federal Polytechnic, Orogun and the appointment of Dr. Duke Okoro as Rector by President Buhari.<\/p>\n<p>They also commended the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege for attracting the Federal Polytechnic to Delta State.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday appointed Dr. Duke Okoro as the pioneer Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Orogun in Ughelli North LGA of Delta State.
