Nana Sechere, Christian Atsu’s agent, claims that the footballer’s whereabouts are unknown, despite reports that he was found “with injuries” following Monday’s earthquakes in Turkey.<\/p>\n

Mustafa Zat, the president of Hatayspor, Christian Atsu<\/a>‘s Turkish club, previously stated that the Ghanaian winger has been saved and is responding to treatment.<\/p>\n

Hatayspor manager Volkan Demirel, on the other hand, told Turkish sports website Spor Arena that both Atsu and the club’s sporting director Taner Savut, who went missing during the Monday earthquake, had yet to be found.<\/p>\n

At the moment, neither Savut\u2019s location nor condition is known,<\/em>\u00a0the club\u2019s manager was quoted as saying.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In agreement with that, Christian Atsu\u2019s agent said on Wednesday:<\/p>\n

We are doing everything we can to locate Christian.<\/em><\/p>\n

As you can imagine, this continues to be a devastating time for his family.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In a follow-up to the aforementioned, Nana Sechere noted:<\/p>\n

Following yesterday\u2019s update from the club that Christian had been pulled out alive, we are yet to confirm Christian\u2019s whereabouts.<\/em><\/p>\n

If they were in the hospital, don\u2019t you think I would share this? Please don\u2019t be sure that he survived. This should not be written as he survived.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Also, Ghana\u2019s ambassador to Turkey, Francisca Ashietey-Odunton, told Joy FM that there was \u201cconfusion\u201d regarding Atsu\u2019s whereabouts.<\/p>\n

She said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here informed me that they wanted to confirm if Christian Atsu had been found and rescued, and sent to a medical centre.<\/em><\/p>\n

However, in all the confusion \u2013 which is understandable under the circumstances [as you are rescued you are put in an ambulance and sent to the hospital] \u2013 they are not sure yet which particular hospital or health facility he has been sent to.<\/em><\/p>\n

This morning again, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has assured me they are working feverishly to find out which facility he was sent to and will get back to me as soon as possible because I have been on them that I need to go and see him.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
