One Aliyu Muhammad in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT says he did lock up his wife in their room to prevent neghbours from having access to her.<\/p>\n
Muhammad made the admission while responding to a divorce suit filed by his wife in an area court in Bwari Area Council. <\/p>\n
He said he locked her up anytime he was going for business to prevent other housewives in their rented compound from influencing her negatively.<\/p>\n
The wife, who had approached the court to seek the separation of their four-year-old marriage over allegations of unlawful custody, lack of feeding and maintenance by the husband, told the court that her husband used to lock her up inside their room in Gwagwalada town any time he was leaving home in the morning for his business.<\/p>\n
She further said, \u201cHe also used to beat me for no reason and he lacks respect for my mother.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, I decided to relocate to my mother in Bwari town as my father is no longer alive.\u201d<\/p>\n
She lamented that their only daughter of about a year-old had since been taken away from her by the husband.<\/p>\n
Responding, the husband accused his mother- in-law of not picking his calls or answering his greetings, but sought for reconciliation.<\/p>\n
The Judge, Abdurrahman Ibrahim, granted the husband\u2019s demand for a chance of reconciliation within a week and adjourned to February 17.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
