Senator Abdulaziz Nyako, son of former Adamawa State Governor Murtala Nyako, has spoken out about the role Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, played following his father’s impeachment.<\/p>\n

Nyako was impeached on July 15, 2014, following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n

Nyako’s memo to northern governors, alleging that the federal government was committing genocide against northerners, widened the schism he had with Jonathan, leading to his impeachment.<\/p>\n

Nyako told journalists at a town hall meeting in Yola, Abdulaziz, that Tinubu and ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki helped his father.<\/p>\n

While expressing gratitude to Saraki and Tinubu for their support for his father, he claimed that Northern governors, including members of his G5 group that fought Jonathan, refused to provide him with temporary shelter in their states.<\/p>\n

Tinubu and Saraki, he claims, put their necks on the line to help Nyako flee to London, where he lived in exile until President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in in 2015.<\/p>\n

Asiwaju and Saraki helped Admiral (Nyako) to leave the country. In fact, it was Asiwaju\u2019s son that paid for his (Admiral Nyako\u2019s) accommodation in London<\/em>, Daily Trust quoted him as saying.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
