A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dele Momodu, has clarified a statement of his wherein he said the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu would win the 2023 presidential election if he was to pick his party\u2019s nomination form.<\/p>\n

Recall that Tinubu last year picked the nomination form and emerged as the APC presidential candidate and is running against Momodu\u2019s PDP and his favourite candidate, Atiku Abubakar.<\/p>\n

Momodu, who is a key member of the PDP presidential campaign team, explained that he only said that no other candidate from the PDP could have been able to challenge Tinubu<\/a> safe for former vice president, Atiku Abubakar.<\/p>\n

The former PDP presidential aspirant stated this when reminded of his statement on Arise Television\u2019s The Morning Show on Monday.<\/p>\n

Momodu<\/a> said that even in the video which he was quoted, he made it clear that Tinubu would win if the PDP fails to produce a stronger candidate.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes. But I say only if the Peoples Democratic Party can come up with a stronger candidate and they came up with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the same quote I said unless PDP produces a strong candidate. In retrospect, all of us who competed against Atiku that time, it is now we value Atiku more, because I don\u2019t see how anyone else would have been able to take on Tinubu.<\/p>\n
