Governor Nyesom Wike’s fight against Abiye Sekibo, the Director-General of the Atiku\/Okowa Campaign Council in Rivers, has revived the yet-to-be-resolved deaths of former National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, South-south, Chief Aminasoari Kala (AK) Dikibo, and another party chieftain, Gospel Biobele.<\/p>\n

In 2004, unidentified assailants killed A.K. Dikibo as he was traveling to a meeting in Asaba, Delta State.<\/p>\n

However, Biobele was discovered dead a day after he petitioned against Sekibo’s appointment as a minister by the Obasanjo administration at the time.<\/p>\n

Nobody has been arrested for the murder of the two men.<\/p>\n

But on Monday, Wike implied that Sekibo might know a little something about the deaths of the deceased PDP chieftains while campaigning in Abonnema town, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, of Rivers State.<\/p>\n

He also alleged that Dr. Sekibo was indicted as a cultist in a report of judicial enquiry by late Justice Kayode Esho.<\/p>\n

Wike challenged Sekibo<\/a> to disclose the killers of the two deceased PDP chieftains.<\/p>\n

The Governor spoke while countering the claim Sekibo that the PDP presidential campaign council was putting off its campaign rally in Rivers State because of the threat to the life of members of the campaign team.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of us know who Abiye Sekibo is. Don\u2019t we? I use this medium today to challenge Dr Abiye Sekibo. I want to ask you wherever you are, can you tell us who killed A.K Dikibo, the former national vice chairman south-south of the Peoples Democratic Party? \u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWho killed Chief Gospel Biobele? Chief Gospel Biobele was the one who wrote petition against Abiye not to be minister when he was nominated. Immediately Biobele wrote the petition, the next day he was killed in his house. Abiye Sekibo who killed Biobele?\u201d<\/p>\n

Wike maintained that Justice Kayode Eso of blessed memory was chairman of Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) set up by the Chibuike Amaechi\u2019s administration and whose report allegedly indicted Abiye Sekibo as sponsor of cultism in the State.<\/p>\n

\u201cOrdinarily, I shouldn\u2019t bother myself about such a man who is now saying they want to kill him. Abiye, I challenge you. Justice Kayode Eso judicial panel indicted you as the sponsor of cultism in the State. I\u2019m not the one. Justice Eso, justice of the Supreme Court of the blessed memory, who chaired judicial panel of inquiry indicted you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wike also claimed that former president Olusegun Obasanjo sacked Sekibo as Minister of Transportation because of his dastardly act.<\/p>\n

The Rivers State Governor explained that PDP PCC in Abuja had applied to him seeking approval of a venue to use for their rally in the state, which was approved.<\/p>\n

But he claimed the PDP presidential campaign team realised that they do not have the capacity to mobilise the crowd to fill the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium and hence, went to clear another piece of land in Trans-Amadi Industrial Layout owned by the State government.<\/p>\n

He claimed that campaign team did not get approval to use the land.<\/p>\n

Wike further said instead of returning to the stadium after the PDP Campaign team was stopped, members of the PDP PCC are making spurious allegation of threat to lives as the reason why they are cancelling their rally in Rivers State.<\/p>\n

\u201cI gave them the stadium, they know they have no capacity to fill the stadium, they are looking for excuses. They went and forced themselves to use government land at Trans Amadi. I said no, that was not where I gave you. Where I gave you was Adokiye Amiesimaka, go and fill that place.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey now said no, we won\u2019t go there again. We don\u2019t want people to die. Who is killing who? Is anybody killing anybody? I said don\u2019t pay money, I will buy the diesel for you. I will do everything for you. Mobilise, go and fill that stadium. They ran away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Soliciting votes for PDP consolidation team, Wike told PDP members in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area to ensure that they win their individual political units and wards for the party during the general election that are billed to hold on 25th February and 11th March 2023.<\/p>\n

He said members of PDP loyal to him must work to win their wards so that the holistic winning secured in the election will be grandstanding.<\/p>\n

He urged the people of the area to vote massively for Sir Siminialayi Fubara and his running mate, Prof. Ngozi Odu, to ensure consolidation of what his administration has gained and continue the development agenda for the good of the state.<\/p>\n

Also speaking, Fubara, solicited votes from the Akuku-Toru people, noting that several development projects that have been delivered by Governor Wike in the area.
\nHe listed the projects to include the Abonnema ring-road project, healthcare facilities phase one of Trans-Kalabari road and security.<\/p>\n

He assured that when he clinches electoral victory with their votes, his administration will ensure effective development of youths in the area, improving living condition of the people and make the state better.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, the Rivers State Chairman of PDP, Ambassador Desmond Akawor who presented the party\u2019s flags to the various candidates, urged Akuku-Toru people to deliver 100 per cent votes to all PDP candidates in the area.<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of the candidates that are flying the flag of the party, the Rivers State Deputy governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, contesting for Rivers West Senatorial District, noted the massive turn out of the people and urged them to continue in such show of love by voting for them to win.<\/p>\n

In his address, Secretary to the Rivers State government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo declared that Akuku-Toru is PDP and the people are determined to prove it with the quantum of winning votes that they will deliver for all the candidates.<\/p>\n

On his part, Chairman of Rivers Elders Forum<\/a>, Chief Ferdinand Alabraba said that Akuku-Toru people will not allow primordial sentiment to affect the choice of who to cast their votes for, and that person is Sir Siminialayi Fubara and other candidates of the party.<\/p>\n
