Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos State, has assured Agege’s residents that their community will continue to benefit fairly from democracy’s dividends in the form of infrastructure development, health care services, improvements to educational facilities, and other initiatives that will improve the people’s quality of life.<\/p>\n

This assurance came from the Governor, who was present at the grand finale of the “Agege Day Celebration” and the unveiling of the N500 million Agege Education Endowment Fund on Tuesday at the Agege Stadium in Agege, Lagos. The Governor was represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat.<\/p>\n

Governor Sanwo-Olu stated that \u201chis promises are in line with his administration\u2019s inclusive policy\u201d, he urged the residents to continue to sustain the peaceful cohabitation among the various ethnic groups residing in the different communities within Agege.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Governor stated that \u201cthe N500,000,000 Agege Endowment Fund<\/a> being launched today, is a laudable idea and a clear understanding of the role of education as an enabler and the most potent tool for youth empowerment\u201d.<\/p>\n

He, therefore, enjoined corporate organizations, and well-meaning sons and daughters as well as friends of Agege to support and contribute generously to this fund for the upliftment of the education sector and greater developments of this community.<\/p>\n

The Governor noted that the grand finale of the Agege Day Celebration and the launching of the Agege Education Endowment Fund presents an opportunity to celebrate the values of community development.<\/p>\n

He added that the celebration reflects how residents can continue to cohabit peacefully with each other in the interest of growth, development, and collective and individual prosperity.<\/p>\n

Stating that \u201cthe theme of the celebration is apt and speaks to the remarkable progress that Agege and what its people have achieved as a result of the atmosphere of oneness that has been sustained over the years\u201d.<\/p>\n

Speaking further, Sanwo-Olu said that Agege is a historical town with rich antecedents in trade and commerce, stating that \u201cIt is worthy to note that up till this present day, Agege is still a vibrant commercial town contributing significantly to economic growth and development of the State,\u201d noting that Agege has produced prominent sons and daughters, including the Speaker whose commitment to the continued growth and well-being of Agege and it\u2019s people cannot be over emphasised.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the forthcoming elections, Sanwo-Olu charged the residents to come out en masse to vote for all the candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) party, on 25th February and 11th March 2023.<\/p>\n

He said that \u201cLet us cast our votes fully for our leader and our Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and to ensure the re-election of Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu as the Governor of Lagos State\u201d.<\/p>\n

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa affirmed that he will continue to take Agege to enviable heights.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will make Agege my first and give all it takes to coast home every developmental opportunity for the community\u2019s advancement,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He noted that the launch of the Agege Educational Endowment Fund showed renewed hope and future to the youth in their educational pursuit and it gives the confidence of brighter days ahead of the children in the town.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
