The Executive Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom and his Bauchi state counterpart, Bala Mohammed have reconciled their differences over harsh statements credited to both sides on the bearing of AK-47 rifles by Fulani herders.<\/p>\n

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the media fight between the duo was resolved by the Rivers State Governor, Wike and other PDP chieftains after a meeting\u00a0initiated by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which held in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital today March 2.<\/p>\n

Recall that on February 12, Governor Mohammed had accused Governor Ortom<\/a><\/strong> of championing the campaign to criminalize the Fulani tribe.<\/p>\n

Bala Mohammed also\u00a0defended the use of AK47 rifles by herdsmen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to him, the herdsmen deserve to carry rifles as the government has failed in their duty to protect them.<\/p>\n

Reacting to his comments,\u00a0Governor Ortom expressed his disappointment at Governor Bala.<\/p>\n

He went on to accuse the governor of attempting to kill him.<\/p>\n

He also asked any herder in Benue state who wishes to move around with AK47 rifles to vacate the state and go to Bauchi state.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone who is not willing to respect the laws of our land should go and meet Bala Mohammed, and there you can carry AK-47, and you\u2019ll not be apprehended,\u201d Governor Ortom had said.<\/span><\/p>\n
