Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has cautioned bandits that his administration has the capacity to crush them.<\/p>\n

This warning was issued by President Buhari in the wake of the killings of residents of some Zamfara communities by bandits.<\/p>\n

Recall that over 25 people were killed\u00a0in attacks on Gobirawa, Rini, Gora, and Madoti Dankule in Bakura and Maradun LGAs in Zamfara \u2014 the death toll has since risen.<\/p>\n

Accroding to report, the gunmen stormed the communities on\u00a0motorcycles and shot sporadically, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the development, Buhari said the \u201cinsane and persistent violence against innocent people must stop\u201d, adding that \u201csuch wanton disregard for life will be brought to an end sooner than later\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese criminals should stop pushing their luck too far by believing that the government lacks the capacity to crush them,\u201d the president was quoted to have said in a statement by Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe violence against poor villagers<\/a> who are struggling with poverty and other severe economic challenges is not going to be tolerated by this administration.\u201d<\/p>\n

The president directed security agencies to close all existing gaps in their operations while expressing hope that the special operation launched by security agencies will prove decisive in ridding the state of the \u201cfrequent and horrifying\u201d bandit activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s not give these criminals any opportunity to succeed by taking the war to their own camps and stop them in their tracks before they even have the time to respond under our massive fire power,\u201d the president added.<\/p>\n

Buhari reassured residents of the state of his administration\u2019s determination to defeat the enemies, despite the latest setback.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
