{"id":25114,"date":"2021-04-23T15:23:21","date_gmt":"2021-04-23T14:23:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=25114"},"modified":"2021-04-23T15:23:21","modified_gmt":"2021-04-23T14:23:21","slug":"fg-to-support-sierra-leone-on-road-safety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/04\/23\/fg-to-support-sierra-leone-on-road-safety\/","title":{"rendered":"FG to support Sierra Leone on road safety"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The federal government has stated that it will collaborate with Sierra Leone in its efforts to ensure road safety.<\/p>\n<p>This was stated by the secretary to the government of federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha on\u00a0Friday during a courtesy visit by the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) to Abuja.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The SLRSA is responsible for regulating and developing the road transport sector<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>in Sierra Leone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to NAN, Mustapha commended the team for understudying Nigeria\u2019s\u00a0Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to sustain standard road traffic administration in Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the federal government would be happy to train the officers of SLRSA in managing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/04\/20\/police-and-vigilante-group-rescue-16-children-who-were-kidnapped-and-trafficked-in-edo\/\">road traffic<\/a> in their country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe federal government is willing to assist and support you in achieving your desired goals,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cA lot has been put into Nigeria road safety and management. Road carnage is a major cause of death. We will be happy to receive Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority for training.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWe appreciate your coming to Nigeria and hope after now, you take all that will be gotten back to Sierra Leone, do make best use of them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Speaking earlier, Ibrahim Sannoh,\u00a0<\/span>SLRSA executive director, said the aim of the visit was to strengthen bilateral relations with the FRSC.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWe study the FRSC\u2019s website and we will continue to study it.
