Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called an audio in which he allegedly revealed preparations to rig the election on Saturday by himself, Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal, and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa false.<\/p>\n

Atiku<\/a> claimed in a statement released by his Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, that the video in question was proof of last week’s warning about preparations by rivals to intensify their propaganda.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this age of artificial intelligence technology, even dead people can be portrayed as delivering speeches. This is nothing new,\u201d Shaibu noted.<\/p>\n

The aide recalled Atiku contested two presidential elections and has never been indicted or prosecuted for election violence or vote buying.<\/p>\n

Shaibu said the narrative of Atiku manipulating the polls election \u201cis indeed the height of desperation, the last kick of a dying horse\u201d.<\/p>\n

The statement told the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Labour Party, LP, that \u201celections are not won on social media but at the polling units\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow can Tambuwal be referring to Atiku by his full name in a one-on-one private conversation? This is nonsensical, similar to the type of meaningless chatter about President Muhammadu Buhari being dead and replaced by one Jubril from Sudan.\u201d<\/p>\n

Atiku advised his supporters not to engage in the propaganda war \u201cwhich had become the style of both the APC and the Labour Party\u201d.<\/p>\n

Noting that the presidential election is a watershed in Nigerian history, the flagbearer said the people must not lose sight of what is most important.<\/p>\n

The PDP presidential candidate called on the police and other security agencies as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to remain fair and neutral in the polls.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
