Dele Momodu, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, has explained why Peter Obi, the flag bearer of the Labour Party (LP), won in Lagos State in the recently concluded February 25 presidential election.<\/p>\n
The “preponderance of the Igbo people in Lagos,” according to Momodu, was the reason Obi won.<\/p>\n
He disclosed this on Thursday while appearing on Channels Television\u2019s Sunrise Daily breakfast show.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat transpired last Saturday, the major factor was ethnic: the Labour Party was able to take over the APC behemoth because of the preponderance of the Igbo people in Lagos. They are everywhere,\u201d Momodu said.<\/p>\n
Momodu added that Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, held their respective geopolitical bases, unlike Bola Tinubu who couldn\u2019t hold on to his base in Lagos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
