Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has hailed the Supreme Court judgement extending the validity of old N200, N500, and N1,000 notes till December 31, 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wike also implored the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to comply with the order. <\/p>\n

He said Emefiele had no option but to comply with the decision of the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Abuja, the governor said: \u201cI thank God the Supreme Court today has told them the old money remains valid till the end of December.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, if you still have the old money, use it. The highest court of the land has said so.<\/p>\n

\u201cToo bad for the governor of the Central Bank. He has no choice. There is no other directive that can override the judgement of the Supreme Court.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
