Fanny Colin, Hakimi\u2019s lawyer, said he \u201cfirmly denies all the accusations against him\u201d and claimed he was the victim of \u201can attempted racket\u201d.<\/p>\n
She said Hakimi welcomed the charge laid against him because \u201che finally has the possibility to defend himself\u201d.<\/p>\n
Colin said Hakimi\u2019s accuser had \u201crefused to make a formal accusation and refused to have a medical or psychological examination\u201d.<\/p>\n
Rachel-Flore Pardo, the lawyer for the alleged victim, told AFP: \u201cMy client maintains everything that she said. She made the choice to speak exclusively to prosecutors and does not want the affair to become a media issue, mainly to protect her safety.\u201d<\/p>\n
Under French law, being charged does not necessarily mean the case will go to trial.<\/p>\n
Reigning French champions PSG are top of Ligue 1 and face Nantes at home on Saturday before travelling to Germany where they will try to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit against Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Hakimi has been receiving treatment for a thigh injury but the club said he will return to action \u201cnext week\u201d.<\/p>\n
PSG coach Christophe Galtier declined to comment on the details of the case, but said on Friday: \u201cThe aim is that he\u2019s available for the match against Bayern.\u201d<\/p>\n
The legal proceedings against Hakimi do not prevent him from leaving France.<\/p>\n
Hakimi came through the youth system at Real Madrid before joining Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in 2018. He went on to make 73 appearances for the German club.<\/p>\n
He moved to Inter Milan in 2020 and then on to PSG in 2021 where he has established himself as an integral part of the team and has struck up a close friendship with star forward Kylian Mbappe.<\/p>\n
