{"id":253454,"date":"2023-03-06T08:37:46","date_gmt":"2023-03-06T07:37:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=253454"},"modified":"2023-03-06T08:37:46","modified_gmt":"2023-03-06T07:37:46","slug":"federal-high-court-begins-easter-vacation-march-31","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/03\/06\/federal-high-court-begins-easter-vacation-march-31\/","title":{"rendered":"Federal High Court begins Easter vacation March 31"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal High Court will begin its Easter holiday on March 31.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Judge, Justice Tsoho, announced the holiday in a statement signed by the FHC&#8217;s Assistant Director of Information, Dr Catherine Oby-Christopher, and stated that it would last until April 17.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is pursuant to the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (b) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019 (as amended).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe court would resume sitting on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in all judicial divisions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the CJ, during the holiday period, the judicial divisions in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt will be open to the public only in cases of extreme urgency.<\/p>\n<p>Tsoho stated that the Abuja judicial division would handle cases from the Federal Capital Territory, the North Central, the North Western, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/11\/court-refuses-to-grant-order-stopping-efcc-imo-govt-from-seizing-okorochas-properties\/\">North Eastern regions<\/a> of the country, with Justices Ahmed Mohammed and Donatus Okorowo presiding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Lagos division will cater for cases from all the South Western states, while the Port-Harcourt judicial division will be responsible for cases from all states within the South-South and South Eastern geo-political zones,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The CJ said while Justices T.G. Ringim and A.O. Awogboro would serve as vacation judges at Lagos division, Justices A.T. Mohammed and S.I. Mark would preside at Port-Harcourt division during the holiday period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe vacation judges and heads of divisions are as usual advised to promptly refer to the Hon. Chief Judge all matters which they believe may require His Lordship\u2019s urgent attention and directives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Chief Judge of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/12\/14\/lagos-high-courts-begin-christmas-vacation-dec-24\/\">Federal High Court of Nigeria<\/a>, Honorable Justice John T.
