Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, has urged party candidates running for House of Assembly seats<\/a> to brace themselves for victory.<\/p>\n

This was stated by the former governor of Anambra State on Friday during a closed-door meeting with the house of assembly candidates in Awka.<\/p>\n

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that this comes after Governor Charles Soludo threatened members of his constituency not to vote for candidates other than those of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).<\/p>\n

Soludo made the remarks while speaking to members of the Igbo-Uwku\/Aguata 2 State Constituency.<\/p>\n

Soludo stated that only APGA winners will have access to him and the opportunity to advise him.<\/p>\n

Residents who vote for a candidate from a party other than the APGA, he claims, will only be entitled to a monthly salary.<\/p>\n

Candidates from other parties who win will, according to Soludo, be unable to provide infrastructure to their constituents.<\/p>\n

After the closed-door meeting, Peter Obi told journalists that the assembly candidates were advised to work with the state governor, Soludo if they won.<\/p>\n

He went on to say that people should not be afraid of impeachment because LP is only trying to make things right in Nigeria.<\/p>\n

He said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are not urging anyone to impeach any other person. We held a meeting with our assembly members, and we are calling on Nigerians to vote for Labour Party.<\/em><\/p>\n
