{"id":255064,"date":"2023-03-13T06:58:39","date_gmt":"2023-03-13T05:58:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=255064"},"modified":"2023-03-13T06:58:39","modified_gmt":"2023-03-13T05:58:39","slug":"soludo-alleges-plot-by-lp-assembly-candidates-to-disrupt-administration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/03\/13\/soludo-alleges-plot-by-lp-assembly-candidates-to-disrupt-administration\/","title":{"rendered":"Soludo Alleges Plot By LP Assembly Candidates To Disrupt Administration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The governor of Anambra State, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/11\/15\/obis-camp-reacts-to-soludos-claim-that-lp-candidate-cant-win-2023-presidency\/\">Charles Soludo<\/a>, has claimed that House of Assembly Labour Party (LP) candidates are being sponsored in order to destabilize his administration if they win.<\/p>\n<p>WITHIN NIGERIA\u00a0reports that Soludo made this known through his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Alex Obiogbolu.<\/p>\n<p>Obiogbolu told journalists in Awka that the governor is not new to politics and that he is well-informed and experienced enough to work with all party candidates.<\/p>\n<p>However, candidates running on the Labour Party platform are being sponsored for ulterior motives, necessitating the need to vote for All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidates in order to avoid lawmakers who will distract the governor when he is sworn in.<\/p>\n<p>Obiogbolu, on the other hand, stated that the governor is not seeking a rubber stamp assembly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>He said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>It is not that Gov Charles Soludo cannot work with lawmakers who are not of APGA; after all, the current House of Assembly is made up of PDP, APC and APGA, and we have not had any issue at all.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Soludo is well informed and experienced that he can work with them, and don\u2019t forget that he is a homeboy and he is not new to politics. So the issue of rubber stamp lawmakers does not come in here.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>What we are looking at is the motive or the intent of some people who want to send some people to the State Assembly.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Are they going to the House of Assembly to represent their constituencies, to make good laws for the state and carry out their oversight functions as stipulated by the law? Are they going to the House of Assembly to see the sense in what Governor Charles Soludo is doing for the people of the state? Are they being sponsored to the Assembly chambers to do the needful in the area of checks and balances for the good of the state?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>When you hear the mantra known as; payback time, you can agree with me that it sounds vindictive in every sense and manner. What is payback time? It means since \u2018Soludo didn\u2019t support Peter Obi of Labour Party, we are going to vote in the Labour Party candidates, so that he would know no rest as the governor\u2019, and whatever he does be it good or not would be frustrated and if possible impeach him outrightly.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>If we have lawmakers across the political parties in the State Assembly that are out for good governance and with the most of honest intentions, they are welcome.
