The Labour Party’s (LP) candidate for governor in Kaduna State, Mr. Jonathan Asake, has stated that he will not withdraw from the race on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Asake made the remarks while speaking to reporters in Kafanchan, the headquarters of the state’s Jema’a Local Government Area.<\/p>\n

According to him, the claim that he collected N100 million from APC candidate Uba Sani<\/a> and Gov. Nasir el-Rufai to harm the PDP’s chances on Saturday is false.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are poisoning people\u2019s minds that I am being sponsored by Uba Sani so that the votes of Southern Kaduna will be split and Uba Sani will win.<\/p>\n

\u201cNone of the leaders of the PDP could face me and ask for a round table, instead they resorted to using proxies to get me to step down,\u201d he said<\/p>\n

He challenged the PDP or anyone with evidence that he collected the money to make it public.<\/p>\n

The LP candidate said that as one of the biggest critics of the APC-led government in the state, he could never go into any political deal with Sani and el-Rufai.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey want to convince the electorate that a vote for the Labour Party is a vote for the APC.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll these, of course, are lies. I have never and will never sit with Uba Sani and Nasir el-Rufai for any kind of political deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI challenge anyone to come up with a shred of evidence that we ever met not to talk of collecting money from them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Asake promised to provide effective and exemplary leadership for the people of Kaduna State if elected on Saturday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
