Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has admonished his supporters to look out for someone whose dispositions and personality align with what the party stands for when they go to the polls on Saturday for the governorship elections.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, residents of over 20 states will troop out to elect new governors and state assembly lawmakers.<\/p>\n
Addressing his supporters dubbed \u2018Obidients\u2019 on Thursday, Obi implored his teeming supporters not to vote blindly. <\/p>\n
He asked them to vote for candidates with proven \u201ccharacter, competence, capacity and compassion\u201d.<\/p>\n
The LP standard bearer spoke during an interview on Sunrise Daily, a Channels Television programme.<\/p>\n
\u201cI support the Obidients, please do not vote blindly. We have a country and a problem and we have to deal with it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have said it, please watch out for character competence, capacity and compassion. The country needs to see competent people in positions to serve.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, do not vote blindly. We have some states we have some competent people. We have a competent, young, and dynamic man in Lagos that can do the job.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have one in Abia. I have visited those states where I think we have the people that are competent to rule.<\/p>\n
\u201cOut of the 28 states where the election for governorship is coming up on the 18th, we have about 6 or 8 where we have participants who can do the job.\u201d<\/p>\n
