A 28-year-old armed robbery suspect, Osas Aganmwonyi, has said that he joined a robbery gang to raise money to pay his children\u2019s school fees and feed them.<\/p>\n

WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that Aganmwonyi was among four suspects arrested by the Police<\/a> over alleged armed robbery using military uniform in their operation in Edo State.<\/p>\n

Speaking with Daily Trust, Aganmwonyi said he joined the gang due to hardship after losing his job.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cThis is my first time being involved in robbery. I am a tiler and painter, but I don\u2019t have a job and I need money to take care of my family.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have three children. I lost my wife and I lost my job. I have no money to sponsor them. I have to pay their school fees and feed them.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have anybody to assist me. So, I indulged in robbery<\/a> to be able to train my children in school and also put food on their table.\u201d<\/p>\n

He further said, \u201cI was not in this situation before. I was a car owner, had a plot of land and other things. I don\u2019t know what happened and I lost everything. I just had to look for money to start a better life for my children.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I have found out that what I did was not the best in my situation. I blame myself for everything and I\u2019m not happy that my face is going viral in a negative situation. It is a disgrace to my family.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
