{"id":259778,"date":"2023-04-02T23:15:01","date_gmt":"2023-04-02T22:15:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=259778"},"modified":"2023-04-02T23:15:01","modified_gmt":"2023-04-02T22:15:01","slug":"presidential-transition-council-debunks-fake-twitter-handle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/04\/02\/presidential-transition-council-debunks-fake-twitter-handle\/","title":{"rendered":"Presidential transition council debunks fake Twitter handle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fake Twitter account created by unethical individuals since 2020 has been disproved by the Presidential Transition Council.<\/p>\n<p>According to PTC, the fake Twitter handle @TransitionNgr (https:\/\/twitter.com\/TransitionNgr.) was created prior to the council&#8217;s establishment and inauguration.<\/p>\n<p>This was stated in a statement signed on Sunday by Willie Bassey, Director of Information for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation\/Chairman of the Presidential Transition Council.<\/p>\n<p>The PTC said the authentic Twitter account of the Presidential Transition Council was @FGNPTC (https:\/\/twitter.com\/FGNPTC\/).<\/p>\n<p>The statement read \u201cThe attention of the Presidential Transition Council has been drawn to a fake Twitter handle, @TransitionNgr (https:\/\/twitter.com\/TransitionNgr.) created by unscrupulous persons since April, 2020, even before the establishment and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/10\/07\/osinbajo-departs-nigeria-to-represent-buhari-at-un-event-in-london\/\">inauguration of the Council<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPTC has nothing to do with the fake Twitter account handle, and wishes to state that approval for the establishment of the Presidential Transition Council was given by the President in February this year and was subsequently inaugurated by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation \/Chairman of PTC, Boss Mustapha, thereby exposing their irresponsible and calculated attempt to disseminate inaccurate and tainted information to unsuspecting members of the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the avoidance of doubt, the authentic Twitter account of the Presidential Transition Council is @FGNPTC (FGN PRESIDENTIAL TRANSITION COUNCIL) (https:\/\/twitter.com\/FGNPTC\/).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe public, by this release, should discountenance the fake Twitter account and use the official account handle of PTC for genuine and accurate information on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/08\/31\/osinbajo-leads-energy-mission-to-usa-today\/\">activities of the transition programme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPTC further adds that the activities of the Transition Council is on course as all Committee members are working assiduously for the success of the inauguration on 29th May, 2023.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A fake Twitter account created by unethical individuals since 2020 has been disproved by the Presidential Transition Council.
