Unknown gunmen, suspected of being cultists, killed a final-year University of Benin (UNIBEN<\/a>) student living in Hall 3 Hostel.<\/p>\n

The late student, known colloquially as Desmond and ‘Mayor,’ was said to be a student at the Department of Public Administration.<\/p>\n

WITHIN NIGERIA\u00a0gathered that he was shot at about 9pm on Monday night causing panic among students.<\/p>\n

At the time of filing this report, it was learned that his remains had been loaded into an ambulance and were on their way to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital mortuary.<\/p>\n

According to a student who requested anonymity, the deceased, who was also a kegite chief before his death, was shot in the face at point-blank range.<\/p>\n
