{"id":260179,"date":"2023-04-04T15:55:39","date_gmt":"2023-04-04T14:55:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=260179"},"modified":"2023-04-04T15:55:39","modified_gmt":"2023-04-04T14:55:39","slug":"mc-oluomo-has-no-immunity-sue-him-with-your-evidence-says-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/04\/04\/mc-oluomo-has-no-immunity-sue-him-with-your-evidence-says-police\/","title":{"rendered":"Mc Oluomo has no immunity, sue him with your evidence, says Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigeria Police Force has urged anyone with evidence to file a case against the chairman of the Lagos State Parks and Garages Association, Musiliu Akinsaya, popularly known as Mc Oluomo.<\/p>\n<p>The force spokesman, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a tweet on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that during the 2023 gubernatorial election, a trending video showed MC Oluomo allegedly intimidating voters who would not cast their ballots for the ruling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/04\/03\/apc-clears-air-on-purported-expulsion-of-senator-omo-agege\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">All Progressives Congress<\/a> (APC) to stay home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we finish voting, we\u2019ll be watching because we have begged you and you said you have heard. If you make a mistake, you will understand. Please tell them, we have begged them. If they don\u2019t vote for us, it is not a fight. Tell them that, Chukwudi\u2019s mother, if you don\u2019t for us, sit down at home. Do you understand? Sit down at home,\u201d Mc Oluomo said in the video.<\/p>\n<p>MC Oluomo\u2019s statement drew criticism from many Nigerians calling for his arrest and prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>In response to criticism, MC Oluomo claimed that he was not speaking to the Igbo in Lagos but rather to a woman named \u201cIya Chukwudi\u201d and added that he had used a playful tone when he made the statement.<\/p>\n<p>A Twitter user named, Eleonu Clinton, alleged that the objectivity of the police on the matter is questionable.<\/p>\n<p>Police spokesman Adejobi in his reaction said that victims with substantial evidence can file a case of assault against Mc Oluomo, noting that he has no immunity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can take the case of attack up with MC if you have a case or evidence of attacks against him,\u201d Adejobi said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany people and lawyers, even the deputy gov of Lagos, have said it severally.
