Femi Fani-Kayode, a director in the APC presidential campaign council, has launched yet another attack on Peter Obi supporters popularly referred to as Obidients.<\/p>\n

The ex-minister stated this time that the movement is spiritually and mortally wounded.<\/p>\n

Professor Wole Soyinka and Lai Mohammed, he claims, have confirmed that Obidients and their principal are subversives and a threat to Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Fani-Kayode said in a statement released Thursday morning:<\/p>\n

\u201cOur reverred Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, and our dear brother Lai Mohammed have spoken.<\/p>\n

They have confirmed our concerns and vindicated our position.<\/p>\n

The Obidient movement is spritually and mortally wounded and politically dead. Thanks be to the Living God. We need waste no more time on them.<\/p>\n

From now on they will scream and shout like a headless chicken in the throes of death.<\/p>\n

They have found themselves in the merciless grip of karma as they slip quietly into the eternal darkness and burning fire of Gehanna, Sheol and Hades where they shall meet Shaitan, their lord and master.<\/p>\n

\u201cRIP Obidiots: history will judge you harshly.\u201d<\/p>\n

– Prof. Wole Soyinka –<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Nobel laureate had described the comments by Datti Baba-Ahmed, vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), in a recent interview as containing \u201cfascistic language\u201d.<\/p>\n

Soyinka spoke in a chat with Arise TV on Wednesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On March 22, Datti, in an interview with Channels TV, said the country has no president-elect despite the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announcing Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the election.<\/p>\n

The LP vice-presidential candidate said Tinubu would be leading an unconstitutional government if sworn into office because the APC candidate \u201chas not met requirements of the law\u201d.<\/p>\n

The interview has elicited criticism from political stakeholders as well as a N5 million fine for the TV station.<\/p>\n

Adding his voice to the conversation, Soyinka described Datti\u2019s remarks as a \u201ckind of do-or-die attitude and provocation\u201d that goes contrary to democratic disposition.<\/p>\n

He said the LP vice-presidential candidate tried to \u201cdictate to the supreme arbiter of the nation\u201d, adding that it was unacceptable.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have never heard anyone threaten the judiciary on television the way Datti did. I heard the kind of menacing, blackmailing language as that to which we were treated by Datti. That kind of do-or-die attitude and provocation is not what I think we have all been struggling for,\u201d Soyinka said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNearly the totality of Datti\u2019s comment in the interview was unbecoming. It was like trying to dictate to the supreme arbiter of the nation, and whatever you think of the supreme court, it is an institution we all refer to sooner or later.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut Datti kept saying, in his wisdom, that the supreme court must agree with me. That is what is known as fascistic language and it is not acceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n

– Lai Mohammed –<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Nigerian minister of information accused Obi and Datti of inciting people to violence over the outcome of the Presidential elections.<\/p>\n

The minister told international media organizations that it was wrong for Obi on one breadth to seek redress in court over the outcome of the polls and on another breadth incite people to violence.<\/p>\n

\u201cObi and his Vice, Datti Ahmed<\/a> cannot be threatening Nigerians that if the President-elect, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is sworn in on May 29, it will be the end of democracy in Nigeria.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is treason. You cannot be inviting insurrection, and this is what they are doing. Obi\u2019s statement is that of a desperate person, he is not a democrat that he claimed to be.
