{"id":261608,"date":"2023-04-11T04:52:14","date_gmt":"2023-04-11T03:52:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=261608"},"modified":"2023-04-11T04:52:14","modified_gmt":"2023-04-11T03:52:14","slug":"six-arrested-for-stripping-ekiti-lady-posting-video-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/04\/11\/six-arrested-for-stripping-ekiti-lady-posting-video-online\/","title":{"rendered":"Six arrested for stripping Ekiti lady, posting video online"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, have arrested six suspects in Ekiti State for stripping a lady naked and posting the video online.<\/p>\n<p>The NSCDC state Public Relations Officer, Tolulope Afolabi, on Monday, said the suspects were arrested at the Ekute area of Ado-Ekiti for attempted murder, and seven others were arrested over alleged threat to life and stealing.<\/p>\n<p>Afolabi said six of the suspects, Tosin (22), Abejide (22), Adeoye (21), Oke (22), Ayeni (22) and Iremide (22), had been on the radar of the command\u2019s Counter Terrorism Unit since March 8, 2023, before they were arrested on Sunday at the Ekute area of Ado Ekiti.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, one Omolola (23) reported a case of attempted murder on her by the suspects and how she was mobbed by them and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/01\/21\/my-husband-beat-stripped-me-naked-in-public-wife-tells-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stripped naked<\/a> as a result of a misunderstanding.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cAfter the victim was stripped, the suspects injected pepper into her private part, took the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/08\/29\/policeman-stripped-took-our-nude-videos-and-raped-us-till-morning-rivers-teenager-alleges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video<\/a>, and posted it on a social media group created by the principal suspect, Tosin, who is the group leader.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreliminary investigation by the CTU showed that the suspects are members of a cult group in the state capital and their mission initially was to kill the victim and dump her in a pit before an unknown person in the neighbourhood came to her rescue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Afolabi also disclosed that some students, suspected to be members of Eiye Fraternity attacking people living along Poly Road, Ado Ekiti, were arrested by the CTU on April 8.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThe suspects, Adebayo (19), Aladegbemi (22), Ayedemi (18), Oyebanji (20), Abiodun (23), Taiwo (23) and Abiodun (25), were arrested with some stolen goods in their custody.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll the suspects are currently assisting the command to trace other members of the confraternity.<\/p>\n<p>He quoted the state NSCDC State Commandant, John Fayemi, as saying that the command had been working assiduously \u201cto make sure Ekiti State is free from pockets of security breaches.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, have arrested six suspects in Ekiti State for stripping a lady naked and posting the video online.
