Mubarak Musa, a businessman based in Abuja, has reported a threat to his life.<\/p>\n

Musa, who runs a construction business, claimed that on December 1, 2022, and February 4, 2023, his friend Stephen Achema stormed his site and assaulted him.<\/p>\n

Additionally, he charged him with damaging his property.<\/p>\n

The victim revealed that after Achema attacked him, he threatened to kill his family in a petition<\/a> sent to the Department of State Service, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, and the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.<\/p>\n

The lawyers for Mustapha Mahmud Ibrahim Chambers requested the AGF and the IG to take action in the petition against Achema Stephen Akpa for criminal intimidation, assault, and threat to my personal life and property.<\/p>\n

It read, \u201cOur client and Mr Achema have been good friends for a while until this afternoon around 12.40pm when Mr Achema stormed our client\u2019s site at Emperor City and Almubee Estate in Wuye District of Federal Capital Territory area of Abuja with hoodlums in their numbers.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo my greatest surprise as Achema Stephen came down from his vehicle, he came to me directly and started chanting all sorts of words and before I could realise, he slapped me and started punching me with some heavy blows on my face together with his boys.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, they chased those who wanted to come to my aid away. I was humiliated in front of the public mercilessly for a reason I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfterward, he returned to his vehicle and told me to watch out for what will happen to me within 24 hours. He then said to me \u2018I will kill you.\u2019 I immediately reported to the police at the Wuye Division for swift action.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter assaulting me, Mr Achema left with a serious warning that he will come back to finish what he has started, threatening that I should either leave Abuja now or he will wipe me out with my family entirely from the face of the earth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Musa, in another petition to the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, narrated another alleged visit of Achema to his site in Wuye, Abuja, with thugs, whom he claimed destroyed his property.<\/p>\n

According to him, the private security guards responded, overpowered and chased away the thugs and left Achema behind.<\/p>\n

He claimed that the guards, who sustained injuries during the attack, were rushed to hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

While alleging that Achema boasted of having the police and soldiers at his beck and call, Musa requested security cover for himself and his company, which he said had expatriates and indigenous staff.<\/p>\n

City Round learnt that the IG Intelligence Response Team, in a letter dated December 5, 2022, invited Achema for an interview over \u201ccriminal conspiracy, breach of trust, issuance of dud cheque, obtaining by false pretence, cheating and intimidation\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

When contacted on Tuesday, Achema promised to call our correspondent back, but did not.<\/p>\n

However, his Chief Security Officer, Olukunle Soyoye, who spoke for him on Wednesday, said Achema was attacked at the construction site.<\/p>\n

Soyoye said, \u201cAchema went to the construction site without any intention to cause trouble. It was Musa who hired thugs to attack him. The thugs cut his legs. It was when Achema reported the incident that Musa decided to start writing petitions<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

A former head of the IRT, CP Tunji Disu, whose office handled the case, asked for time to confirm the case.<\/p>\n

\u201cGive me time, I will try to find out,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

However, a source at the IRT said Achema had been evading arrest.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we sent the letter to him, he ran away to Dubai. Since that time, he has been evading the police,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, could not be reached for comment as calls and a text message to his number were not replied.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
