The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said it does not have any information on the whereabouts of its suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in Adamawa State, Yunusa Hudu Ari.<\/p>\n

Ari has been in the eye of the storm since Last Sunday after he illegally declared Aisha Binani of the All Progressives Congress, APC, winner of the Adamawa supplementary governorship election while collation of results has not been concluded. <\/p>\n

His action sparked confusion and tension in the north east state. President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday approved Ari’s suspension<\/a> and probe over the incident. <\/p>\n

But, INEC countered Ari\u2019s declaration and announced Ahmadu Fintri winner of the election after counting of results.<\/p>\n

However, INEC\u2019s spokesman, Festus Okoye, said Ari had not picked up his call since the infamous action.<\/p>\n

Appearing on Channels Television, Okoye said: \u201cWe don\u2019t know where he is because, after this particular incident, the Commission wrote him and also called him on the phone.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe never returned any of the calls; he never answered any of the calls.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe asked him to report to the Commission on Sunday, we didn\u2019t see him, we asked him to report on Monday, we didn\u2019t see him. So up till this moment, he has not reported and we don\u2019t know his whereabouts.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
