The police in Bauchi state say they have arrested two over the death of an okada rider, Muhammad Tukur. <\/p>\n
Tukur, a resident of Kangere in Bauchi Local Government Area of the state, was earlier declared missing.<\/p>\n
The suspects, Hashimu Adamu, 22, and Anas Muhammed, 23, were alleged to have engaged the deceased to convey them to Badaqoshi village in Alkaleri LGA. On their way, however, they allegedly stabbed their victim in the stomach and made away with his Bajaj motorcycle.<\/p>\n
The Bauchi State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, in a statement made available to journalists in Bauchi, said the deceased was reported missing by his elder brother.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn 09\/04\/2023, at about 4 pm information was received from Maina-Maji Divisional Headquarters that a decomposed male corpse was sighted at Shinge village forest in Alkaleri LGA, which was later identified to be the missing person.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring our investigation, it was revealed that one Hashimu Adamu of Badaqoshi village Alkaleri LGA, and Anas Muhammed of Kangere Ward, Bauchi, were the last passengers sighted with the okada rider heading to Badaqoshi village,\u201d Wakil stated.<\/p>\n
The police spokesman further alleged that following their arrest, the suspects confessed that they conspired and lured the deceased to convey them to Badaqoshi village, only for them to kill him and made away with his motorcycle.<\/p>\n
Wakil, who further disclosed that a red Bajaj motorcycle was recovered from the suspects, said they will be charged in court as soon as detectives conclude their investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
