{"id":265113,"date":"2023-04-27T10:41:13","date_gmt":"2023-04-27T09:41:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=265113"},"modified":"2023-04-27T10:41:13","modified_gmt":"2023-04-27T09:41:13","slug":"insecurity-wouldve-worsened-in-nigeria-without-buhari-presidency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/04\/27\/insecurity-wouldve-worsened-in-nigeria-without-buhari-presidency\/","title":{"rendered":"Insecurity would\u2019ve worsened in Nigeria without Buhari \u2013 Presidency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari said insecurity would have worsened in Nigeria without the President\u2019s input.<\/p>\n<p>Adesina made this statement in an interview on Channels Television on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The Presidential spokesperson noted that the Buhari\u2019s administration greatly improved security in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>According to Adesina, Buhari surpassed the former President Goodluck Jonathan on security, because Nigeria\u2019s Armed Forces moved from seventh to fourth place rating in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Adesina said Buhari made Nigeria safer in the past eight years of his administration.<\/p>\n<p>He further explained that Nigeria\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/04\/10\/insecurity-buhari-leaving-nigeria-far-better-than-he-met-it-presidency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">insecurity<\/a> would have been worse without Buhari\u2019s intervention.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cIn 2014, Nigeria\u2019s armed forces were rated seventh in Africa regarding combat readiness and equipment. Today, we are fourth because the President had spent a lot in equipping the military, training and moral boosting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur efforts were windless as, in 2015, the country had four or five serviceable aircraft. Do you know how many scores we have today, including Super Tucano and other sophisticated aircraft?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn terms of arming the military, this administration has done well because if it did not, by now, Nigeria would have been overrun by so many insecurity challenges, banditry, insurgency and terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, it has done well because it would have been worse. As of 2015, how many bombs go off in Abuja daily? Could you go to church without being searched? Would you go to the recreational centre without a bomb detector being used on you?
