The Labour Party’s Deputy National Secretary, Prince Kennedy Ahanotu, has claimed that Akingbade Oyinlekun, the party’s factional National Legal Adviser, defrauded his brother, claiming he collected money from him in the run-up to the party’s primaries in Lagos State.<\/p>\n

Ahanotu made the statement on Thursday while answering questions about the LP leadership crisis on Arise Television’s Morning Show.<\/p>\n

Recall that the Labour Party’s leadership squabble<\/a> took another turn when Lamidi Apapa’s faction suspended five executive members, including the embattled National Chairman, Julius Abure.<\/p>\n

Also, at the National Executive Council in Asaba, Delta State, the Abure-led faction suspended five executive members.<\/p>\n

Lamidi Apapa, the acting Chairman of the party, Alhaji Salem Lawal, Favour Reuben, Gbenga Daramola, Samuel Akingbade, and Mohammed Akali were among them.<\/p>\n

As the crisis worsened, Ahanotu claimed that Akingbade, a member of Apapa’s faction, had a history of illicit engagement and activities.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201dIt was this same Akingbade, in fact, we were hiding Akingbade from some of the candidates of the party because they said if they saw Akingbade, they would no longer run under the platform of the party.<\/p>\n

\u201cEbonyi State governorship election, Akingbade withdrew it. He cannot say he did not withdraw it; without due approval of the party, Akingbade went and withdrew the Ebonyi State case from the tribunal. Again, there are several instances.<\/p>\n

\u201dA brother, I have a brother that wanted to run for House of Representatives in Lagos; Akingbade defrauded him. He is still alive.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, he is filing a petition against Akingbade with the evidence of all the money they collected from him. He has a track record of illicit engagement and activities.
