In an effort to stay in the Premier League, Leeds fired manager Javi Gracia and hired Sam Allardyce for the remainder of the campaign.<\/p>\n
Following the dismissal of director of football Victor Orta, the club on Wednesday announced the departure of Spaniard Gracia and his backroom staff.<\/p>\n
Gracia, who joined Leeds only in February, leaves the team after four losses in five Premier League games; with four games left, Leeds is still outside the bottom three on goal differential.<\/p>\n
\u201cLeeds can confirm Javi Gracia will leave the club after 12 games in charge,\u201d a club statement said. \u201cZigor Aranalde, Mikel Antia and Juan Solla, who joined alongside Gracia, will also leave the club.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe thank Javi and his team for their efforts under difficult circumstances.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe remaining four games of the season will be overseen by experienced head coach Sam Allardyce.\u201d<\/p>\n
Allardyce suffered his first Premier League relegation when West Brom went down in 2021, leaving the club six months into an 18-month contract.<\/p>\n
