Kayode Ajulo, a legal practitioner, has stated that King Charles of the United Kingdom may pardon embattled former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu during his coronation ceremony.<\/p>\n

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Ekweremadu was sentenced to nine years and eight months in prison by a UK court on Friday for plotting to harvest a man’s kidney for his sick daughter.<\/p>\n

Beatrice Ekweremadu was sentenced to four years and six months in prison, while Obinna Obeta, a medical doctor, was sentenced to ten years in prison for the same offense.<\/p>\n

The defendants were charged with conspiracy to arrange the travel of a young Nigerian man named David Nwamini to the United Kingdom in order to exploit him for his kidney.<\/p>\n

Sonia, Ekweremadu’s sick daughter, required the organ.<\/p>\n

Their trial lasted six weeks, and they are expected to be convicted today at the Old Bailey, London’s Central Criminal Court.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the development, Ajulo<\/a> stated on Channels Television on Friday that Ekweremadu may still have a chance at regaining his freedom.<\/p>\n

He said;<\/strong><\/p>\n
