The All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Osun State has made some requests to the state governor, Ademola Adeleke<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This comes as the party has urged the governor to follow through on his promise to be fair to all Osun residents.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued on Friday by Tajudeen Lawal, acting chairman of the Osun State APC, the party stated that only when the governor accepts their requests will they believe his promise to be fair and just to all.<\/p>\n

Their submission comes against the backdrop of Adeleke’s statement following the Supreme Court’s reaffirmation of his governorship mandate that he has forgiven all of his political opponents and will be fair to all during his tenure.<\/p>\n

It would be recalled that the governor in a statement issued by the Osun APC Director of Media and Publicity, Kola Olabisi, noted\u00a0 that;<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is Adeleke\u2019s subsequent actions and inactions that would be a worthy parameter to know the level of importance that the governor attaches to his pledge for fairness to all and sundry.<\/em><\/p>\n

The political will of Adeleke to reverse some of his hasty decisions against the opposition APC and its members and supporters through his numerous executive orders borne out of victimisation, oppression and vindictiveness during his inauguration would go a long way in measuring the genuiness and seriousness of his post-Supreme Court\u2019s verdict pledge.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is one thing to promise to do something while it is another thing to do the opposite.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

On this note, the APC in the state has told him to resolve the issue of traditional rulers immediately and to reinstate the 1,500 sacked teachers and health workers installed and recruited by the Adegboyega Oyetola administration.<\/p>\n

The APC also wants the governor to reintegrate the 20,000 disengaged youths from the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (OYES).<\/p>\n

Lawal said;<\/strong><\/p>\n

For us to further have an unshaken confidence in his promised fair dealing with all and sundry, Governor Adeleke should fast track the payment of the November 2022 salaries and leave allowances of the political functionaries that worked till the end with former Governor Oyetola as there is no justifiable reason for punishing those who served their state meritoriously.<\/em><\/p>\n

It becomes expedient for Adeleke to pay the November 2022 salaries of the political functionaries that worked under ex-Governor Oyetola because the said salaries had been appropriated before the exit of the former governor.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Remember that Adeleke announced several sets of Executive Orders during his inauguration to counteract all actions taken by the Oyetola administration beginning July 17, 2022.<\/p>\n

The Owa of Igbajo, Aree of Iree, and Akirun of Ikinrun, the three traditional rulers appointed by the Oyetola administration, were all affected by these Executive Orders.<\/p>\n

In addition, appointments of health workers and teachers were revoked, and the OYES was canceled.<\/p>\n

Adeleke, on the other hand, appointed review panels to investigate the Oyetola administration’s actions and submit a white paper.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
