{"id":268909,"date":"2023-05-16T22:52:36","date_gmt":"2023-05-16T21:52:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=268909"},"modified":"2023-05-16T22:52:36","modified_gmt":"2023-05-16T21:52:36","slug":"fg-has-recorded-modest-gains-in-judicial-reforms-malami","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/05\/16\/fg-has-recorded-modest-gains-in-judicial-reforms-malami\/","title":{"rendered":"FG has recorded modest gains in Judicial reforms \u2013 Malami"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, says the Federal Government has recorded modest gains in the area of Justice reforms through legislations and judicial decisions.<\/p>\n<p>Malami disclosed this at the two-day body of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/05\/14\/ex-gov-yari-pays-n250-million-for-250-copies-of-malamis-book\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Attorneys General<\/a> conference on Tuesday, in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe achievements recorded in the Justice sector are worth relishing, the reforms have expounded the legal jurisprudence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been able to guide our principals and shape public governance towards advancing the course of justice, rule of law and deepening our democratic practices. Over the years,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver times salient issues which include payment of pension for judicial officers, sharing of Stamp Duties collections, Value Added Tax, NFIU Guidelines, regulation of the mining and gaming industry, policing and security have been addressed and will continue to get government attention.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOther areas are mutual evaluation and collaboration in combating and prosecution of terrorism and other violent crimes\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He commended the AGs from the 36 states of the Federation for their dedication in public servants for effective service deliver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith all sense of responsibility, we strived within human possible limits to discharge our duties meritoriously.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dI therefore, urge you to continue to do your best in the position of leadership that providence bestowed on us as Attorneys-General\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Yakubu Maikyau, SAN described the legal body as the bedrock of nation\u2019s existence.<\/p>\n<p>He urged the stakeholders to continue to extend their dexterity and sagacity for a better Judiciary sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, says the Federal Government has recorded modest gains in the area of Justice reforms through legislations and judicial decisions.
