David Chimezie, 23, was arrested on Thursday in Ibadan’s Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing N700,000 from his aunt.<\/p>\n

Chimezie, whose home location was not given, was charged with stealing.<\/p>\n

The defendant, on the other hand, pled not guilty to the accusation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The prosecution, Insp Olufemi Omilana, informed the court that Chimezie committed the crime on December 24, 2022, at 6:30 p.m., in Ibadan’s Eleyele neighbourhood.<\/p>\n

Omilana said that the defendant took the money from Mrs Chioma Onyegbula, who borrowed it from a cooperative organization.<\/p>\n

He said that the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.<\/p>\n

The Magistrate, Mrs Munirat Giwa-Babalola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.<\/p>\n
